What is CBD? Will it get me high?
CBD is short for Cannabidiol. It’s a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp, so you get all the benefits of hemp without the high.
CBD is a naturally occurring molecule in cannabis. CBD binds to receptors in the body, and is believed to reduce the rate of certain electrical activity. Unlike THC, CBD does not cause intoxication.
CBD is believed to have health benefits, but its effects are being studied and are generally unproven. The FDA has only approved one drug containing CBD for limited use in treating epilepsy. The FDA has not approved CBD as a food additive in products such as Vida Optima.
Is CBD Legal?
The Farm Bill of 2018 made it federally legal to grow hemp and extract CBD, so long as it is from hemp plants that contain less than 0.3% THC. The FDA, however, is studying CBD and has not approved it as a food additive or dietary supplement.

Hemp vs Marijuana? What's the difference?
We're sure you've heard these terms countless of times, without understanding the true breakdown between the two. Hemp and Marijuana are terms often use interchangeably to describe any cannabis plant or it's defivatives. Here's an easy way to delineate between them.
Hemp is Cannabis. Marijuana is Cannabis. Hemp is NOT Marijuana.
Hemp plants are typically tall and thin. They are used to cultivate a number of industrial products such as foods, oils, paper, textiles and high CBD extractions.
While they have many different chemical properties, according to the Federal Government, industrial hemp includes the cannabis plan Sativa and any part or derivative with a THC concentration of no more than 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
This small percentage is the magic number, the legal limit laid out in section 7606 of the Farm Bill. All CBD product manufactured by Vida Optima are derived from crops grown in accordance within this legal limit.
